Look at this wing falling apart on a United Flight — yes, it was a Boeing.

Another day, another Boeing airplane trying to disintegrate.

BOSTON – A United Airlines flight from San Francisco to Boston was diverted to Denver on Monday because of an issue with the plane’s wing – and a worried passenger on board captured the apparent problem on video.

“Just about to land in Denver with the wing coming apart on the plane,” Kevin Clarke says in a video shared with CBS News. “Can’t wait for this flight to be over.”

Another passenger shared a photo of the wing on Reddit mid-flight.

“Sitting right on the wing and the noise after reaching altitude was much louder than normal. I opened the window to see the wing looking like this,” user octopus_hug wrote. “How panicked should I be? Do I need to tell a flight crew member?”

I’m falling apart. You’re falling apart. Democracy is falling apart. The climate is falling apart. Yes, these are all things that are falling apart, but Boeing airplanes falling apart is not on the accepted list of failures at this time! That makes a wing, some holes, some bolts, a doorplug, and two crashes all over the past few years. I’m not saying you shouldn’t fly on Boeing airplanes anymore, but I’m saying maybe you should say an extra prayer or two before boarding?

At any rate, the recent spate of bad publicity has possibly lead to a shakeup at Boeing, as they just got rid of one of their executives.

New York CNN —

Boeing removed executive Ed Clark, the head of its 737 Max passenger jet program, after a dramatic – and terrifying – midair blowout in January underscored ongoing problems with the jet.

The 737 Max is Boeing’s best selling plane, but has been a source of repeated problems over the last five years, starting with a 20-month grounding in 2019 and 2020 following two crashes that killed a total of 346 people. More recently, a door plug on a Boeing 737 Max flown by Alaska Airlines blew out soon after taking off, leaving a gaping hole in the side of the plane.

The papier mâché wing incident is actually a 757, not a 737, but it’s the same company with terrible management having structural issues, so I’m fine lumping them all together. Boeing has a problem, fundamentally, in the core of their company in regard to quality assurance being deprioritized over corporate profits. Now that the public, and the FAA, have been put on alert, they will have to make changes quickly, or airlines will simply refuse to buy anymore of their airplanes. How would that look to their corporate profits?
