Trump gets skewered by South Park after $1.5 billion deal.

A quick Paramount – CBS – Colbert – Trump – South Park summary for anyone who needs it.

Paramount has been bleeding money because their streaming service sucks and they can’t compete with the big dawgs. Skydance Media (a production company with movies like True Grit, World War Z, Annihilation, Transformers, etc.) offered to buy Paramount, but this kind of corporate merger has to be approved by the FCC because of anti-trust/monopoly regulations.

Meanwhile, Trump sued CBS for $10 billion over a Kamala interview that he says was edited to make her look better than she is. The suit is baseless and just another example of Trump slinging shit at the walls hoping something sticks. It did stick, because Paramount owns CBS and they want to keep this administration from stopping the merger. They settled for $16 million, which Trump says is a huge win.

Also, before the settlement, Bill Owens stepped down as Executive Producer of 60 Minutes after 37 years with CBS news because Paramount was trying to influence their content — lay off Trump and Israel — with that $10 billion suit and a merger over their heads.

Colbert is the latest victim of Paramount’s efforts to appease Trump, with the official reason being that his late night show is too expensive to produce, but it’s really because they need to keep Trump happy and Colbert was lighting his ass up on the regular.

And then here comes South Park. Matt & Trey have been working on a 5-year deal to hand over streaming rights to Paramount, and it finally closed at $1.5 billion. What do they do first? Tear Trump a new one!!

I don’t really think this will affect the merger, because European authorities have already given it the green light and the FCC is just dragging along, but it is so lovely to see Paramount say “we can’t afford Colbert anymore!” only to pay $1.5 billion for a show to make little dick jokes about Trump.
