Sometimes I post political things just to make you mad. Part of it is because I’m mad and I don’t want to be mad by myself, but part of it is to motivate you to vote and hopefully get someone else who doesn’t vote mad enough to do the same.
Anger is fuel.
The Right is motivated by anger and hate and it wins them elections. Those wins result in marginalized communities watching their rights slip away.
The Left can also be motivated by anger and hate and it doesn’t make you “just as bad as them” to lean into those feelings because our wins don’t result in hardship. When we win, we don’t punish the Right the way they punish marginalized communities. So be as angry as you want.
If The Right chastises you for being a violent liberal, so what? If they accuse you of inciting violence, so what? If they make insincere references to the intolerant Left, so what?
They have babies in cages, politicians who punch journalists, and a platform whose primary goal is to expand liberties for their base and restrict those liberties for everyone else. All of their “concerns” are hypocritical, so ignore them.
Focus on this very basic fact:
Liberals want the best quality of life for the greatest number of people in this diverse country.
Conservatives want the best quality of life for their definition of American and everyone else deserves to suffer.
If you curse out a few Republicans, interrupt a few politicians at dinner, or even proclaim how much you *hate* them with your FULL chest, you are still better than them, because you won’t punish them if you win.
Be as angry as you want. If meeting Conservatives in the gutter fuels you to take action and get other people to vote, then so be it. The objective at this point is to win by any means necessary. We can worry about manners later.
