You can call it packing the Court, expanding the Court, or re-balancing the Court, but the simple fact is, The Supreme Court has too few judges, and not *just* because Donald Trump placed so many of them.
Our highest court is archaic and tiny and ineffective, and many other governments have much larger high courts, some with a hundred judges, that can hear more cases and don’t flip back and forth contingent upon deaths of old people and what President is in power.
Imagine a Supreme Court with 50 judges. It wouldn’t be a political debacle every time we get a new one. No one “swing vote” judge would be important anymore. Judges could retire whenever they want instead of feeling like they have to work until they drop because of who’s in power.
That’s how you take partisanship out of the judicial branch.
